Questions on Type, Legibility/Readability and Colour Theory

Type Questions:

How different does a font have to be from another to be considered it's own typeface and not plagiarism?

Do languages such as Japanese and Korean which use symbols have different fonts?

Are there guidelines/ratios which help dictate the sizing of type in comparison to other elements of your design?

How long does it take to professionally design a full typeface from start to finish?

How much money can be made by designing typefaces?

Legibility/Readability Questions:

When do serifs start to have an effect on Legibility/Readability?

Does the volume of copy effect readability?

Is there a way to make type more legible and readable to people with Dyslexia?

What is the optimal contrast for maximum readability?

are different kerning and leading settings used when creating braille?

Colour Questions:

Do people who are colour blind see the same optical illusions we did during our lesson in studio 4?

How many colours can you use on 1 piece of work before it looks maniacal?

Are some pantone colours more expensive to produce, and if so do companies ask you to use cheaper colours?

When colours can have multiple connotations which are almost opposites (red could be love or blood), how do you decide which colours to use?

Will the location of work (different light sources) effect colour choice?
